Nissan Esflow.
Nissan has unveiled the brand-new Nissan ESFLOW Concept in full detail at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in Europe. The car features an ultra-modern body style, all-electric powertrain and a number of innovative touches.
ESFLOW is not an existing ICE (internal combustion engine) powered vehicle that has been adapted to run on electricity, but a sports car that's been designed from the outset as a Zero Emission vehicle.
A compact cabin places the occupants right above the car's centre of gravity. Wheel wells sweep over ultra-low profile performance tires, and discreet rearview cameras replace outside mirrors. ESFLOW is unmistakably a sports car.Other features include LED lights, LCD screens, and small rear-view cameras mounted near the car's side mirrors.
The new Esflow concept is powered by two electric motors that are charged by laminated lithium-ion batteries. Each motor is designated to its own rear wheel, taking the Esflow from 0 to 60mph in around 5 seconds with an autonomy of 240kms (150 miles) on one charge.
Power for the motors comes from the same lithium-ion battery packs used in the Nissan LEAF. In Esflow the packs are located along the axis of the front and rear wheels centralizing the car’s mass. These cleverly positioned batteries enable the car to travel over 150 miles on a single charge. When you do need to recharge you’ll find the charging plug-in built into the air ducts beneath the ESFLOW's blue LED front lights—like a well-kept secret.
The body of the ESFLOW accentuates smooth and flowing lines and a state of fluidity. There’s also blue carbon fibre trimming details and blue LED lighting to set the relaxed, clean and crisp mood, inspired by glaciers.
