Mazda Furai.

                                      Mazda Furai.

The Mazda Furai is a concept car manufactured by Mazda. The Furai's meaning "sound of the wind", is powered by a new generation 3-rotor wankel engine that puts out 450 brake horsepower (340 kW). The engine is developed and built by renowned rotary tuner, Racing Beat, who also built the car's rotary-shaped muffler canister. Unlike many concept cars, the Furai is fully functional and is currently being tested at various tracks. It has run at Laguna Seca and Buttonwillow. With scissor doors and futuristic line this 2-seat concept car was made to race like the wind.
The Mazda Furai is the sort of car that could only come from a company that incorporates the "Soul of a Sports Car" into everything it builds, but with an eye toward the future and the environment through the use of ethanol (E100) produced by British Petroleum (BP).
Furai takes Mazda's unique Nagare (Japanese for "flow") design language a step further as it is translated into a concept car based on an American Le Mans Series (ALMS) racing car. The car utilizes the Courage C65 chassis the company campaigned in the ALMS series only two seasons ago, and the 450-hp 3-rotor rotary engine that distinguishes it from anything else on the track.
Mazda's critically acclaimed Nagare design language describes the flow of water, air, people or things moving in one direction. Mazda Nagare is flow, with an insightful and spirited styling, which, in Mazda Furai, invokes a raw, unfettered desire to possess everything this car represents.
The Mazda Furai performed test drives on the Laguna Seca, and drove publicly at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, entertaining visitors with its unique form and resonating rotary sound.
Mazda holds the record for winning the Le Mans with a rotary engine race car. The Furai is a car that brings to life a dream and possibility, that the rotary engine may once again return to the Le Mans in the future.
 Specifications:
1,It weighed 675kg, which is only about 30-50kg more than an F1 car. This gave it a power/weight ratio of .66, or three times better than a Bugatti Veyron.
2,Its chassis was based on an American Le Mans series spec Courage C65 chassis.
3, However, in the original race car, the engine was limited to around 400HP. The Furai had 450 with the use of E100 and a removed air restrictor.
4,The doors opened like this:7 Without a rear wing, the drag coefficient is .36, but provides massive downforce as well. This is comparable to a Koenigsegg Agera R.
5,The wheelbase was 109 inches, which makes it about the same tire-to-tire length as a medium-sized sedan, despite its light weight.
6,It has a top speed of only 180, but a 0-60 time of about 3 seconds.
