 Alessi AR-1 is American supercar has resurfaced after being built in 1979 and its official debut at the 1979 New York Auto Show. The handcrafted AR-1 is a motorcar especially built for the discriminating driver according to Alessi Fiberglass who updated the whole vehicle to meet all of today’s standards. The production is limited to fifty cars.

The chassis of each AR-1 is constructed of eleven gauge steel and is welded with a tensile strength of 100,000 pounds per square inch. The AR-1 body is hand-laid fiberglass with steel reinforcements at key stress points.

The car’s interior comes with several customized options including leather, wood or any other fabrics as well as preferred dimensions for the positioning of the seats. Also included are cut pile carpeting, dual-power side mirrors, security alarm system, rear view mirror with camera for parking assistance, air conditioning and heating arrangements, GPS tracking system, and tilted steering.

Among distinctive features of the car it is possible to note the fiber glass body strengthened by metal in “stressful” points. Besides it the car distinguishes presence of lateral mirrors with increase, tires with a sensor control and many other things that does super car type automobiles.

The Alessi AR1 carry a Corvette-sourced 6.2-liter LS3 supercharged V8 engine that produces a stout 600 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 580 lb/ft of torque at 690 lb/ft of torque. If those figures aren’t enough to tickle your fancy Alessi is offering a twin-turbo engine kit that spikes up the output to a ridiculous 750 horsepower and 690 lb/ft of torque.

No official details have been announced as far as performance numbers go, but Alessi has estimated the AR1 as capable of hitting 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds a quarter-mile in 10.7 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph.
