The Shelby GT500 Super Snake is a Shelby tuned and modified variant of the Ford Mustang. The  edition Shelby GT500 Super Snake includes improvements in both power and performance.

Ford Shelby GT500 is updated with a new front fascia featuring a larger grille, standard HID headlamps and two LED accent strips adjacent to the headlamp lens. Models equipped with the Pony Package offer LED lighting mounted on the sideview mirrors that produce a projection of a running horse on the ground, 18 wheels, and lower valence foglamps. In the rear, LED tail lamp clusters include sequential turn signals  and  reverse indicator light integrated within the brake light. The trunk lid includes a black panel that unites the left and right tail lamp clusters. Several new wheel designs are offered.

Inside, Ford now offers a 4.2 display between the speedometer and tachometer on Premium models. Selections in this information display include G-force, acceleration times, air-fuel ratio, cylinder head temperature, and oil temperature. All models equipped with the 6-speed automatic transmission include a SelectShift feature, which provides drivers the ability to choose and hold a gear and to shift manually.
The Shelby GT500 Super Snake appears in Need for Speed: The Run as an unlocked Tier 3 vehicle with an "Expert" handling rating.

It is up to par Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in terms of top speed and acceleration despite a higher horsepower number. The main advantage it has over the ZL1 is better controllabilty in corners.
