Lincoln MKS Review
The 2013 Lincoln MKS ranks built by the Ford Motor Company Luxury Large Cars. The ranking is 13 out of 14 is based on analysis of published reviews and test drives of the Lincoln MKS as well as reliability and safety data.
The 2013 Lincoln MKS sedan comes in three trim levels FWD, AWD and EcoBoost. The FWD and AWD models come with standard 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive suspension dampers, rear parking sensors, adaptive xenon headlamps, automatic high beams, foglamps, keyless ignition/entry, exterior keypad entry and heated mirrors with driver-side auto-dimming. Inside you'll find leather upholstery, heated and ventilated eight-way power front seats with driver memory settings and four-way lumbar adjustment, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, Sync voice control, the MyLincoln Touch electronics interface, mobile WiFi and a 10-speaker sound system with a CD playersatellite radio and a USB/iPod interface.
The interior of the 2013 MKS meanwhile has received substantial changes. The accommodation of Lincoln Touch dictated an entirely new dash for the MKS one with a buttonless touch-sensitive center stack large 8.4-inch center touchscreen a pair of LCD screens on either side of the analog speedometer and a new steering wheel with joystick controls on both sides to control them.
Lincoln’s biggest sedan has always been on the heavy side. To that end, the brand has managed to give the car a more powerful base engine that’s also more efficient. The previous 3.7-liter V-6 is replaced by the updated version from the Mustang and F-150, which features variable camshaft timing. Projected output is 300 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque (up from 273 and 270). Fuel-saving tech includes active grille shutters and a clutched alternator, which help the 3.7-liter car achieve slight fuel-economy bumps with both front- and all-wheel drive. Front-drivers return an expected 2-mpg improvement in the city and a 4-mpg bump on the highway, landing at 19/28. Four-wheelers improve 2 and 3 mpg, respectively, climbing to 18/26. The top powertrain remains a 355-hp, 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine paired exclusively with all-wheel drive and returning EPA ratings of 17/25. All 2013 MKSs continue with six-speed automatic transmissions.
The redesigned 2013 model year Lincoln MKZ hybrid has experienced strong sales during 2013. In July 2013, Ford announced that for the 2014 model year MKZ hybrid it will increased the share of production allocated to the hybrid version, from 20% for the 2013 model year to 40% of the 2014 model year. The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is popular among consumers in part because it has the same base price as the non-hybrid MKZ.
