Volvo S60.

                                                   Volvo S60.

The Volvo S60 is a compact executive car produced by the Swedish automaker Volvo from 2000. Two generations of the sedan have been produced to date. The V60 is an estate version of the second generation S60.
There's an aluminium sub-frame, stiffer anti-roll bars front and rear, a stainless steel exhaust, modified control arms, and race-spec three-way adjustable ohlins dampers. The battery now sits in the back to optimise weight distribution and with 424lb ft of torque to manage the T6's auto 'box has been replaced with Volvo's M66 manual usually mated to the firm's diesels. This saves another 40kg (at 1,640kg overall the car is about 80kg lighter than the regular T6).Perhaps most significantly, this prototype is running the latest-gen Haldex all-wheel-drive transmission, allied to an electro-mechanical limited-slip diff.

Also appealing are the sports-style metallic blue and silver metal-faced dials in the no-nonsense instrument binnacle. Everything is there: clear, clean and easily read.
The monogrammed electrically-adjustable leather sports seats are great perfectly-shaped for my frame nicely trimmed and surprisingly comfortable for a sport bucket.Rear seats are similarly well-trimmed and also in rich leather. It’s more a two-seater there though as the raised centre position is a taduncomfortable.Running a recalibrated version of Volvo's Haldex four-wheel drive system and a six-speed paddle-shift auto, the S60 and V60 will get from 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds, past 124mph less than 13 seconds later and hit the limiter at 155mph.
Polestar modified the six’s cylinder head, connecting rods, and intake manifold; it bolted on a Garrett turbocharger and a Ferrita 3.5-inch-diameter exhaust system. The folks at Polestar must be Save the Manuals! fans, because the S60 concept gets a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission in place of the regular S60’s automatic. Power is routed through the manual to a modified Haldex all-wheel-drive system with an electronic limited-slip rear differential.
In 2013 Volvo added an all-wheel-drive option to the T5 model, while boosting its engine performance. The company also rearranged S60 trim levels somewhat, into Premier, Premier Plus, and Platinum guises, and added more technology features like rain-sensing wipers as standard equipment. The 2014 model adds a slightly redesigned front end and various minor updates to the instruments, dashboard, and interior.
