MTT Turbine Superbike aslo known as Y2K Superbike is world 2nd motorbike with a turbine engine, powered by a Rolls-Royce, manufactured by Ted McIntyre of Marine Turbine Technologies Inc. Y2K was first introduced 2000.
The turbine bike is also recognized by Guinness World Records as the "Most powerful production motorcycle". According to "Speedology - The Science of Speed" on National Geographic, the MTT turbine bike is engineered for high performance and greatest power-to-weight ratio of production vehicles to date.
The MTT Turbine Streetfighter sports carbon fiber fairings, a tubular aluminum frame and comes with a rear-mounted camera with an LCD colour display up front, forward-and rear-looking radar detector with laser scrambler,It also has a computerized ignition system called Smart Start.
The motorcycle utilizes a two speed transmission system to drive its rear wheel. The chassis of the superbike has been manufactured from aluminum alloy that serves the dual purpose of reducing the gross weight of the vehicle as well as imparting it with an extra degree of toughness. The mighty bike can accelerate to speeds of 100 km/hour after start in an unbelievable 2.5 seconds and can zoom to a cruising rate of 375 km/hour in less than 15 seconds.
The bike is powered by Rolls-Royce Allison Model 250 turboshaft engine. It produces 320 HP (238 kW) at 52,000 rpm and the real wheel has 286 HP. It has a recorded top speed of 227 mph (370 km/h).The engine in bike is also capable of using diesel fuel and also Jet A fuel.
Suspension components comprise of a 55mm USD fork and oleo-pneumatic, fully adjustable monoshock from Ohlins. Brakes are Brembo units, with 320mm discs all around. The bike runs on either diesel or kerosense and has a 34-litre fuel tank.
The MTT Turbine Superbike has a weight of approximately 230 kilograms and can hold up to 34 liters of fuel. Valued at a whopping 175,000 USD, it certainly deserves the worldwide recognition of being the “most expensive production motorcycle” as well as the “most powerful production motorcycle.
