Subaru Legacy 2014.
The 2014 Subaru Legacy is the Japanese brand's midsize sedan equipped with standard all-wheel drive (AWD).
From the outside, the 2014 Legacy follows the four-door mid-size sedan convention, with a long hood and a raked rear window that ends above a short trunk lid. The shape is somewhat slab-sided, relieved by highly exaggerated wheel arches, and the car leads off with Subaru's new and somewhat chunky hexagonal grille shape. Differences in alloy wheels aside, there's almost no visual distinction between the 2.5i base sedan and the top-of-the-line and more luxurious Limited models.
The Subaru Legacy receives praise for its roomy, comfortable cabin and large trunk.Standard features include Bluetooth, a USB port and an auxiliary audio jack. Features available as options or on higher trims include a rearview camera, a moonroof, navigation, two premium audio systems, satellite and HD Radio, dual-zone automatic climate control, Aha smartphone app integration and EyeSight, which includes adaptive cruise control, low-speed pre-collision braking and lane departure warning. Most reviewers think the Legacy’s available navigation system is confusing and dated.
Combining safety and convenience features, Subaru's preventative safety
technology - the EyeSight driver assistance system - acts as a second
pair of eyes monitoring the road ahead. EyeSight can detect obstacles
in front of the car, send a warning to alert the driver, and adjust
vehicle speed to mitigate or avoid a collision altogether. This stereo
camera-based design developed by Subaru provides a detection angle wider
than that of radar-based systems to detect obstacles in front of the
car and limit potential damage in an impact. Features include Adaptive
Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking, Pre-Collision Throttle
Management, a Lane Departure and Sway Warning and Lead Vehicle Start
Alert.
The Legacy is available with a 173-hp 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 173 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque,mated to a six-speed manual transmission (or optional six-speed CVT), or a 256-hp 3.6-liter six-cylinder with a five-speed
six-speed manual transmission.
All Subaru models feature a strut-type front suspension with a wide track and long wheel travel. The double-wishbone rear suspension, also on all models, handles rough roads and sharp corners with both poise and precision - ensuring maximum tire contact, minimum vibration and significantly improved ride quality. Together, these characteristics deliver flatter cornering as well as a quieter, more comfortable ride over a variety of road surface.
Pricing for the 2014 Subaru Legacy has been announced. With nothing but minor trim changes in store for the 2014 model year, the 2014 Legacy's starting price is $21,090 (including $795 destination)..
