2014 Audi RS5 details
2014 Audi RS5
The exhilarating Audi RS 5 Coupe features a fluid, aggressive design, a 4.2-liter FSI V8 engine, and Audi quattro all-wheel drive with torque vectoring and sport differential. Step inside and envelop yourself in the finely crafted materials designed for high performance driving. This car means business inside and out. You'll feel it and you'll hear it.
Audi has done an excellent job of crafting a corporate design language that doesn't feel forced or overbearing, and the 2014 RS5 Coupe is a beautiful poster child for the company's efforts. Audi's trademark single-frame grille, LED accent lighting, finely-tailored sheetmetal, expressive fenders and sleek profile give the RS5 an undeniable distinction, while the lovely flowing curves along the sides, precise creases and crisp detailing finish it off perfectly.
The RS 5 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 that makes 450 hp and 316 lb-ft of torque. The sole transmission is a 7-speed dual-clutch automated manual.
Fuel economy actually isn't that bad for a high-revving V8. The coupe checks in at 16 miles per gallon city/23 mpg hwy, while the Cabriolet drops a smidge to 16 mpg city/22 mpg hwy.
The RS5 gets unique suspension settings that are far harder than even the S5 in the name of ultimate track performance. The car would benefit from the magneto-rheological dampers Audi uses for the TT and R8 to enhance the ride quality. Audi’s Quattro tuning division has yet to implement the tech with the same verve as its parent brand.
A machine with such, assertive performance deserves a design to match. The Audi RS 5 Coupe features a wider body, an exclusive RS Audi Singleframe grille with honeycomb mesh design, and 19-inch 10-spoke forged alloy wheels. The cabin surrounds you with RS-design Carbon Fiber inlays and a three-spoke flat-bottom sport steering wheel that hints at the passion ready to be unleashed.
Standard features for the RS 5 include Nappa leather upholstery, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, tri-zone automatic climate control, a 10-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo with SiruisXM radio and full iPod integration, Bluetooth smartphone integration, a proximity key, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive Xenon headlights, LED running lamps, LED taillights and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Standard safety features on the 2014 Audi RS 5 include antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front seat side airbags, front knee airbags, full-length side curtain airbags (coupe only) and front and rear parking sensors. Optional items include a rearview camera, a blind-spot monitoring system and an automatic emergency braking system that is paired with the adaptive cruise control.
The highly anticipated Audi RS5 is finally on sale , and Audi has revealed that the high-performance sport coupe will be priced from $68,900, (*)not including $895 for destination.
