2014 Honda CB500F
The innovative CB500F expands riding enthusiasts’ options with a modern and sporty 471cc sportbike. This image-conscious offering not only carries a full load of attitude, it also delivers a gratifying level of performance and versatility. The CB500F has a classic riding position, a 30.9-inch seat height and plenty of room for a variety of riders. It’s an excellent choice for riders ready to move up a displacement class, or for anyone who appreciates a great middleweight motorcycle.
“Whether you’re a new rider or an experienced enthusiast, this announcement of new street models offers something exciting for you,” said Powersports Press Manager Bill Savino. “Over the course of the last two years, Honda has introduced many exciting new models across all segments, and we will continue to strengthen our model line-up as evidenced by this announcement
The CB500F is powered by the newest version of Honda’s proven twin-cylinder engine. Featuring double overhead cams and liquid cooling, it extracts superior performance from its 471cc’s through every part of its wide powerband.
Chassis performance is very acceptable, too. The CB500F's wide bars help give light handling, yet stability at speed is excellent despite the upright, wind-blown riding position. The fully-faired R-model's narrower bars mean it requires slightly more steering effort but it's still agile and easy to ride. The suspension, shared by both, is basic but firm enough to give a well controlled ride.
A sophisticated chassis with Honda Pro-Link rear suspension, nine-stage preload and 4.1" travel give you a comfortable ride over small bumps, while capably absorbing bigger bumps to increase riding comfort and handling.
If you’re not ready for a full racer’s position, you’ll appreciate the CB500F’s classic riding position. You can sit up straighter, without supporting your weight on your arms. It’s a great choice when you’re riding around town or commuting, and you can always tuck in tighter when you want to. And it’s more comfortable for passengers.
As a lighter bike in the 500 class, the CB500F is easier to handle, whether it’s putting it up on the side stand or paddling it backwards into a parking space. And its low seat height makes it easier to plant both feet securely on the ground at stoplights.
2014 Honda CB500F using a frame construction that takes the classic, diamond shaped steel tube 35mm CB500F mainframe bond for machines with four mountains, offers a rock-solid base for superior ride and handling.
A motorcycle’s frame is the basis for its handling. A new take on a classic construction, the CB500F’s diamond-shaped 35mm steel-tube mainframe ties to the engine with four mounts, offering a rock-solid foundation for a superior ride and handling.
