Bugatti 16C Galibier.

                                            Bugatti 16C Galibier.

The Bugatti 16C Galibier a luxury hatchback concept car. Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. debuted the 16C Galibier at an invitation-only show held at the Molsheim France assembly salon on September 12, 2009.
The 16C Galibier uses a front-mounted, 8.0 L twin-supercharged W16 engine that delivers power via permanent four-wheel drive. The torque substantially improved because instead of using four turbochargers the car is made with two superchargers. It will also incorporate an option for a hybrid powertrain primarily to reduce pollution in urbanised environments. Performance figures have not been specified, but it has a power output in excess of 1,000 bhp while surpassing speeds of 235 mph.

It would be an understatement to say that jaws drop on the first sight of the Galibier. Absolutely striking in the flesh, the car looks like it has arrived from a futuristic time period with its overall teardop-shape. Right at front are the carefully sculpted headlamps that are constituted by LED bulbs in separate buckets of their own. A gently glowing frame borders the lamps and the bonnet is constituted by two doors which open like pages of a book. A prominent 'spine' runs from nose to tail intersecting so many other design elements and blending well into the teardrop theme. The detailing in the tail-lights is also mesmerizing and below them are eight polished exhausts in two sets of four. The mirror, the windshield and the glass - all stand out from the sheer attention to detail what Bugatti is famous for.
The fenders and doors are made of aluminum, with the rest of the panels and some of the front-end structure being formed from carbon fiber to keep the weight down. We understand that aluminum structural elements, most likely shared with the new Bentley Mulsanne, underpin the car.
Other nice touches are the retro butterfly-wing hood and the horseshoe radiator that’s more successful on this car than on the Veyron.Just like the Veyron, the interior is beautiful to look at and all the pieces are a joy to touch.
