Opel Monza.

                                                                Opel Monza.

The Opel Monza Concept is a four-seat coupe plug in hybrid concept car with gullwing door, unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2013.Opel has a handful of debuts hitting the stage at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, but the most significant is the sleek Monza Concept. Reviving the Monza name, Opel says this concept will inspire future models for the brand, but between the styling, technology and powertrain, it isn't clear which of these will make it to production.
From a styling standpoint, the Monza Concept blends the look of a coupe and shooting brake. The front end of the car is defined by its LED headlights, the low grille and its long hood. In profile, Opel's signature hockey stick body crease is obvious, but this is also the cut line for the large gullwing doors, which when open make the Monza look like it is ready to take flight.
The Monza's interior uses state-of-the-art LED projection technology for the instrument cluster and the touch screen-based infotainment system, a nod to the original Monza that pioneered digital dashboard technology over thirty years ago. Other highlights found in the cockpit include a highly-stylized dashboard, floor-mounted pedals and wood trim on the dash, the center console and the door panels. The Monza is also equipped with three distinctive driver connectivity features including ME, US and ALL.
Under the skin, there is an electric motor and a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder range extender powered by natural gas. Opel says the Monza Concept can be fitted with a wide range of powertrains. The Monza gets the same battery and electric drive system as the Volt and Opel Ampera, only there's a 1.0 liter three cylinder natural gas engine. It's like a Lohner-Porsche brought into the modern age.
The Monza also showcases future technology features such as Opel’s “Car-to-Car” and “Car-to-X” systems, key elements for autonomous vehicles and automated vehicle-to-vehicle communication, which Opel is aggressively working to develop as part of its focus on future safety features.
