Citroen Metropolis.

                                      Citroen Metropolis.

The Metropolis is the first car to be styled and developed by the PSA Group’s Shanghai design studio. It builds on the themes established by the Hypnos concept, using a full-width Citroen double chevron in the grille, the same upright intakes ahead of the front wheels and even near-identical door mirrors. The complex turbine-style wheels are 21-inchers, with 265/35 tyres.

Metropolis blends taut lines with smooth surfaces, evidenced particularly at the front where the sculpted, incisive wings and kite-shaped grille merge with the harmonious contours of the bonnet. The streamlined headlamps have an imperious and steely look, giving Metropolis a natural air of authority.

As regards the interior design is inspired by the range of Chinese music instruments strings ("GU ZHENG") that, in China represent the cultivated man. The assembly is shown in overlapping zones forming a welcoming environment in the lap of luxury has been renewed. The interior of the codes takes METROPOLIS luxury in which the richness of expression is fundamental.

The interior also comes in its own shade of Moondark Grey, which Citroen used on the upper dash, the center console, and the instrument panel. The front seat headrests have the Citroën Racing signature embroidered on them, while uniquely numbered identification plates are placed on the base of the gearshift lever, ensuring that it’s limited appeal is displayed for everyone to see.

Under the "pearl silk"-colored sheetmetal, the Metropolis uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Combustion occurs within a 268-hp V-6, while electricity is funneled through an electric motor good for up to 94 hp. Maximum system power is said to be 454 hp, which—given the rest of the specs—sounds completely made up. The transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch unit. Among the other incredulous figures, Citroen says this huge sedan gets 90 mpg in the Euro cycle. It is possible to drive the Metropolis in purely electric mode, and all-wheel-drive can be switched on or off on demand.
Delivering a smooth and cosseting ride experience, Metropolis is specified with Citroën's renowned Hydractive suspension, which dampens even the roughest of road surfaces and improves the car's aerodynamic performance - further helping to reduce CO2 emissions.
