2014 Audi TTS details

2014 Audi TTS

The 2014 Audi TTS Coupe brings a boldness to performance driving. Its powerfully designed Audi Singleframe grille hints at a potent 2.0-liter turbocharged TFSI engine generating a plentiful 265 hp. The interior's upscale materials like Silk Nappa leather and Brushed Aluminum inlays continue to evoke performance. Taken as a whole, the TTS defines the S badge it wears so well.

All TTS's are powered by a 265-hp TFSI turbocharged direct-injected 2.0-liter four-cylinder mated to a six-speed automatic S-tronic transmission. The all-wheel drive quattro system has been customized specifically to the TTS for faster response time. Unique body treatments, 19-inch wheels and black brake calipers provide the visual differentiation from the TT.

The TTS enhances its progressive shape with the distinctive Platinum Gray Audi Singleframe® grille featuring a twin-blade Aluminum-optic crossbar design. The cabin is artfully appointed including matte Brushed Aluminum inlays, Silk Nappa leather sport seats and a three-spoke flat-bottom multifunction sport steering wheel with shift paddles. It's a testament to race-inspired design.

Inside, we find the next evolution of Audi's famed MMI ergonomics. Abandoning the familiar in-dash monitor, it incorporates a large display in the driver's primary field of vision. Through the MMI controller which still sits proud on the transmission tunnel, one can personalise the info screen content which incorporates the speedometer as the sole must-show item.

Alternative read-outs include a large-scale map complete with fully animated navigation guidance, an extensive web-linked on-board computer, a variety of infotainment functions or simply a set of four round quasi-analogue instruments. Audi is confident that the upgraded MMI will give the brand an edge again over BMW/iDrive and Mercedes/Comand.

The TTS coupe ($49,595) comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, an electronically adjustable magnetic-ride suspension, adaptive xenon headlamps with LED accents, fog lights, a power-retracting rear spoiler, interior LED accent lights, leather upholstery, heated power front seats with adjustable lumbar, a 3-knob climate system with automatic temperature control, a tilt-telescopic steering wheel with shift paddles, Bluetooth connectivity and a 255-watt Bose audio system.

Standard safety features on the 2014 Audi TTS include antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags that protect the head and thorax, and front knee airbags. Rear parking sensors come with the optional navigation system.
