Honda CBR 250R
Honda CBR 250R.
The CBR250R offers the perfect balance of beginner-friendly features and the typical Honda refinement that more experienced riders will appreciate. With its lightweight and very efficient single-cylinder engine, advanced chassis and striking design, the CBR250R is set to appeal to a wide range of riders. Everyone, from leisure riders to style-conscious commuters keen to save time and money will be drawn by the bike’s easy handling, forgiving but powerful engine and rewarding chassis.
The engine is mounted in a steel diamond twin-spar frame. This frame configuration is lightweight, contributing to the bike's low kerb weight. It is also immensely strong, providing a rigid platform on which to mount the front and rear suspension systems. This rigidity is key to stability and swift handling, and on the new CBR250R the frame's rigidity balance has been carefully optimised for sporty dynamics and superb stability at speed. The rider and passenger seats are supported on a strong secondary frame capable of carrying a substantial load.
The all-new CBR250R model is powered by a newly-developed liquid-cooled 249cc 4-stroke 4-valve single-cylinder DOHC engine coupled with a six-speed transmission, and that meets Euro 3 emission standards. This is thanks to Honda’s Programmed Fuel Injection System (PGM-FI) as well as an oxygen sensor, accompanied by a catalyzer fitted inside the exhaust pipe.
The CBR250R uses a single-shock pre-load adjustable rear suspension that not only gives you a smooth ride, but helps enhance handling as well, just as on some of our larger sport models.
The CBR250R is 80.1 inches long and 28 inches wide. The wheelbase comes in at a short 53.9 inches, prioritizing quick turn-in over stability. A seat height of 30.5 inches is right in line with the class average, accommodating a variety of rider heights.
Safety wise, the machine packs Combined ABS (a world first for a 250cc-class road sports model), which makes the bike more stable by bringing together a Combined Brake System (CBS) and an Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS).Honda’s Anti-lock Brakes System (ABS) is a great option to add to the CBR250R. It will have you ready for less than ideal road conditions.
The 2013 CBR250R ABS starts at $4,699, right in line with expectations for a member of the 250cc class of 2013 sport bike motorcycles (the average price is $4,699). A 12-month factory warranty from Honda helps protect new buyers.
